Dead Man's Detour
A haunted walkthrough experience

About
They say it began in the shadows of 2016… just a handful of ghouls lurking in the bushes, waiting for the brave (or foolish) trick-or-treaters who dared to knock. From there, it grew. An archway rose from the earth. Black plastic walls crept higher each year. Screams echoed a little louder, laughter carried a little further. What started as a simple scare has become a neighborhood tradition — a haunted path stitched together with sticks, sheets, and imagination, built not for profit, but for the thrill of Halloween and the joy of our community. Now, each October, the trail opens once more… shifting, growing, and waiting for the next set of footsteps to echo down Dead Man’s Detour.💀 Will you make it through?

Our Story
Dead Man’s Detour began back in 2016 as nothing more than a handful of friends hiding in the bushes, waiting to jump out at trick-or-treaters brave enough to ring our doorbell. The next year, we added a small archway — something visitors had to walk under before they could knock. After that, it was sticks, plastic sheeting, and whatever scraps we could pull together to create just a little more atmosphere. And every year since, we’ve gotten a little bigger, a little creepier, and a little more ambitious. We don’t run a theme park or attract thousands — this is still a neighborhood haunt, built with our own hands and our own money. On Halloween night, we might see 100–200 visitors come through, and for us, that’s more than enough. Every scream, every laugh, every wide-eyed kid holding onto a parent’s hand makes it all worth it.For years, we only ever ran the walkthrough on Halloween night itself. But as time went on, life got busier — our crew started having kids, jobs, and family responsibilities that made a weekday haunt harder to pull off. So in 2025, we’re trying something new: hosting Dead Man’s Detour on the last Saturday before Halloween. That way, we can give it our all while still enjoying Halloween night with our own families.Dead Man’s Detour has always been about more than just scares — it’s about building something for the community we love. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or this is your very first year, thank you for being part of the fright. We’ll keep growing, creeping, and scaring… one Halloween at a time! 💚
